Heh, thanks.
Just got the local paper and turns out there are no consistent maternity services for the next 7 weeks. So assuming I don't go into early labour, I'll be asking the doc on Monday when I have to leave. I could cry. There are 11 women due in these 7 weeks. 11 women who have to leave because our health department can't seem to locate doctors here who can spell off our main two doctors when they need to leave town. And if I do go into early labour and have any issues whatsoever (requiring c-section services) I have to be medivaced to the nearest available place.
I hate this. I hate even more that I can't just go to my parents. Besides the fact they live some 20 hours away, they live in a smaller town than I do. I don't want anyone else besides my hubby.
Sigh, I'm sure I'll be fine but dammit I want to cry. |

My dad is being a jerk. He is dismissing my current situation of being unable to work and possibly losing my home and money in a "PFFT, that's not important, get a grip, do a degree" manner.
However, what he is normally good at is things like whinging that he can't see my puny, pathetic TV (it's 21 inches or something, not that bad!) for years, but I figured one day he would replace it. He text me last night to say he had bought a 50 inch TV for the FA Cup Final. I asked what he had done with his rather lovely 40 inch TV to be told he had given it to a mate. I chose him that bugger! I got the price down on it to under a grand! It had my name on it! Not literally, but I wish I had put a post it on it now.
I tried to demand he goes to his friends house and reclaim it for his "trapped at home" daughter. I feel like being a spoilt cow at the moment, damnit, something nice HAS to happen!
I was also thinking of asking him if he can help pay for me to do some courses towards a degree (open university, so I can do it with my weird sleeping hours), but I daren't now I'll have to get him drunk and plonk him in front of the website with his debit cards methinks! |
